Elisa Díaz Castelo

Elisa Díaz Castelo is the author of Proyecto Manhattan (Antílope, 2021) and the winner of the 2020 Bellas Artes de Poesía Aguascalientes Prize for El reino de lo no lineal, the 2017 Alfonso Vidal National Poetry Prize for Principia, the 2019 Bellas Artes Literary Translation Prize for Ocean Vuong’s Cielo nocturno con heridas de fuego, and the 2016 Poetry International Prize. With the support of the Fulbright-COMEXUS and Goldwater scholarships, she completed a Creative Writing master’s with a focus on Poetry at NYU (2013-2015). Her poems have appeared in Letras Libres, Nexos, Hispamérica, La Revista de la Universidady, Tierra Adentro, Este País, and elsewhere, and have appeared in the anthologies Voces Nuevas 2017 (Editorial Torremozas) and Liberoamérica (2018). She has been a FONCA Young Creators Fellow three times and a Fundación Para Letras Mexicanas Fellow two years in a row. In 2018, she was selected as one of two young Latin American Poets invited to attend the International Poetry Festival in Trois Riviéres.

Her first short story collection, El libro de las costumbres rojas, was published with Elefanta Editorial.
